Keeping Adolescent Girls in School (KAGS) is a five-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) that aims to address key barriers preventing adolescent girls from realizing their right to safe, quality, and gender-responsive education, with a particular focus on their unique needs and barriers associated with participation in primary and lower secondary school. Plan International Tanzania has been working in Tanzania since 1991. Our work supports marginalized children and youth, especially adolescent girls, to grow up physically and mentally healthy and prepared to shape their future. We prioritize working with partners and making sure that all of our work is evidence based. realize their rights to safe, high-quality, gender-responsive education. This will be accomplished by implementing a three-pronged, rights-based, gender-transforming strategy to address supply-side and demand-side obstacles, while fortifying local governance and fostering better connections between the child protection, health, and education systems.
