Examination Results by USE OF MOBILE PHONE
The Minister of Education, Douglas Syakalima, MP, told the public about the results today, Friday, January 28, 2022. Don’t forget to use SMS on the ZAMTEL and MTN networks on Saturday to check the results.
Students can check their grade 12 results for the school year 2022-2023 on their cell phones by doing the following:

- Type the Complete Exam Number (Leave Space)
- Type of Test, Year (Leave Space)
- Enter the Exam Grade and then

Examination Council of Zambia
In 1983, the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) was set up by a law. Its job is to set up and run exams and give certificates to those who pass. Before this law was passed, the examinations were run by the Examinations Section of the Ministry of Education and Culture. After the law was passed, the section continued to do its job of running the exams while also creating a framework for the institution and job descriptions.
The Examinations Council of Zambia became fully operational in 1987 as a semi-independent public institution (Parastatal).
Before the Council was made, tests and grades were given by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate in the United Kingdom. The examinations put on by the syndicate were for many countries, so it wasn’t easy for them to meet the needs of Zambia. The country had to follow the syndicate’s curricula, syllabi, and rules. It didn’t have much of a say in how the syndicate exams were run in general. Because of this, a decision had to be made to hold School Certificate exams in each country. Because of this, there was a need to build up people’s skills in making, giving, and grading exams. Because of this, the Examinations Council of Zambia was set up.
WHAT THE COUNCIL DOES
The Examinations Council of Zambia Act, No. 15 of 1983 says that the main jobs of the Council are to:
To check things out
To deal with the results;
To give certificates and diplomas to people who pass tests that the council sets up;
To do research that is important for exams;
When asked, give advice to any public institution on how to make and use any testing or examining system;
To make exam schedules, to promote the international recognition of qualifications given by the Council, and to do other things.
To agree or disagree with the choice of examiners;
To set up training courses for examiners, markers, supervisors, invigilators, and other people who work with exams, or to arrange for their training;
To ask anyone or any group, inside or outside of Zambia, to help the Council with the exams.

The ECZ Web Applications Portal is a safe place to access ECZ Web Applications from one place. You must be a registered and authenticated user to use the Applications on this Portal. Check online by doing the following:
Go to http://systems.exams-council.org.zm/ECZResultsPortal to see how you did.
Enter your login details (username and password)
NOTE: Your exam’s INDEX NUMBER is both your user name and your password.
ECZ E-STATEMENT OF RESULTS
Click on the link above that says E-STATEMENT OF RESULTS.
Click the CANDIDATE SIGN IN button.
Choose the level whose results you want to see from the drop-down menu, then click the Continue button.
Enter the candidate’s exam number in the box provided, then click Continue.
All the information about the candidate and school will be shown on the screen.
Click on PRINT STATEMENT OF RESULTS to see the results.
In a new tab in the browser, a PDF document will be made.
If you get a message that says, “The statement of results has been successfully generated, but the statement is not shown in the browser,” you need to turn on pop-ups in your web browser. In that case, you’ll have to start the process all over again from step 4.
