Background:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Health Centre Receptionist (for Daily Paid purposes) to be stationed in various field locations. UNRWA provides assistance and protection for some 5.7 million Palestine refugees across its five fields of operation. This position will support the operations of health centres in delivering essential medical services to Palestine refugees in need.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Health Centre Manager, the Health Centre Receptionist will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Greet patients and visitors as they enter the health centre and provide assistance as needed.
- Register patients and verify their personal and medical information accurately.
- Schedule appointments for patients and maintain appointment calendars.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff members.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area and waiting rooms.
- Collect payments for services rendered and issue receipts as required.
- Assist in maintaining electronic and paper-based patient records and files.
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations of the health centre.
Qualifications: Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a healthcare setting, is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is an asset.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems is desirable.
Language:
- Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic or other relevant languages spoken by Palestine refugees is an asset.

- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
