Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination and Liaison: Facilitate coordination among humanitarian actors, including UN agencies, NGOs, and government entities, to ensure effective delivery of humanitarian assistance in Gaza. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to gather and disseminate information, identify gaps and overlaps in assistance, and promote collaboration.

  2. Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments of humanitarian needs in Gaza, including monitoring and analysis of the humanitarian situation. Compile and analyze data to identify priority areas for intervention and inform decision-making processes.

  3. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic plans and frameworks for humanitarian response in Gaza. Support the formulation of coordinated strategies, objectives, and priorities to address identified needs and challenges.

  4. Advocacy and Communication: Advocate for the protection and rights of affected populations in Gaza. Communicate humanitarian concerns and priorities to key stakeholders, including government authorities, donors, and the media. Support public awareness campaigns on humanitarian issues.

  5. Resource Mobilization: Assist in mobilizing resources for humanitarian activities in Gaza. Support fundraising efforts by preparing proposals, donor reports, and other relevant documents. Maintain regular communication with donors to provide updates on humanitarian needs and achievements.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in humanitarian affairs, international relations, political science, or a related field. A combination of relevant academic qualifications and extensive professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency response, or related fields. Experience in coordination, needs assessment, and advocacy is desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex information from multiple sources.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, humanitarian actors, and affected communities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic or another UN official language is an asset.
