Ipass and where Is Located

An American international corporation with its main office in Redwood Shores, California, called iPass Inc. offered online software and services. The company was initially incorporated in California in July 1996, and then in Delaware again in June 2000. On July 24, 2003, the company’s stock was added to the NASDAQ.

Ipass History

Chris Moore started iPass in January 1996; he was later succeeded as CEO, Chairman, and President by Michael H. Mansouri, who held those positions from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, Kenneth Denman succeeded Mansouri as president and chief executive officer. In 2003, he became chairman.

The company successfully issued its IPO in July 2003, raising more than $100 million.

The company started a policy orchestration program in 2004 to incorporate patch management, remote and mobile computer evaluation, and remediation into its connectivity platform. In order to advance this endeavor, iPass bought two businesses in 2004: Mobile Automation, which specialized in mobile device administration, and Safe3w, which created unique dynamic device “fingerprinting” technology.

A former competition in the corporate remote access industry, GoRemote Internet Communications, was purchased by iPass two years later. iPass showed year-end revenue increase despite dropping sales from the company’s original dial-up operation in the midst of these acquisitions. By the end of 2007, overall revenues had increased to $192 million.

Evan Kaplan

Evan Kaplan was chosen by the business to succeed Denman as CEO and President in 2008. During Kaplan’s time there, the company started to create a platform for the delivery of its new enterprise mobility services. The business released the initial iteration of its cloud-based technology, iPass Open Mobile, in January 2010.

The management staff of the company underwent a transition in 2015, starting with Gary Griffiths’ appointment to the roles of CEO and President.

Griffiths and his newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer, Patricia Hume, pursued a new growth strategy for mobile services, launching iPass Unlimited, a per-user, per-month, fixed fee subscription for unlimited Wi-Fi usage. By 2015, the company had increased the number of global hotspots in its network from 18 million to 50 million. The business also committed to improving its applications and products. The business unveiled its proprietary technology, iPass SmartConnect, in November 2015.

Pareteum completed the acquisition of iPass in a stock-only deal in February 2019.
