Description:
The Department of Safety and Security is seeking an Associate Field Security Coordination Officer to join its team in Cairo. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of United Nations personnel and assets in the region.
Responsibilities:

Security Coordination:
- Assist in the coordination of security operations and activities to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel, premises, and assets.

Risk Assessment:
- Conduct security risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating risks and enhancing security measures.

Incident Management:
- Support the management of security incidents and emergencies, including the implementation of crisis response procedures.

Information Management:
- Maintain and update security-related information, including threat assessments, security plans, and contact lists.

Training and Awareness:
- Assist in organizing security briefings, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities for UN staff on security-related matters.

Liaison and Networking:
- Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with local authorities, host government counterparts, and other stakeholders on security issues.

Logistical Support:
- Provide logistical support for security-related activities, including the procurement of security equipment and supplies.

Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on security incidents, trends, and operational activities to senior management.

Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with UN security policies, procedures, and guidelines, and assist in the implementation of security-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, political science, international relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in security coordination, risk management, or related areas.
- Knowledge of security protocols and procedures, preferably within the United Nations system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess security risks and develop appropriate responses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Arabic.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and under tight deadlines.
