Business Analyst

Description

WWC is seeking a Business Analyst with strong data analysis/visualization skills for a contract with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Mid Atlantic (NAVFAC MIDLANT), to serve in a position in Norfolk, VA.

Primary responsibilities may include:

  • Data Analysis – ability to develop reports and dashboards, utilizing one or more of the following: Microsoft Excel’s Power Query and Power Pivot, VBA, Microsoft Access, or IBM Cognos.
  • Organize and integrate data from a variety of sources for use in reports, drawing on multiple data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization, developing data analysis workflows, and streamlining data set development.
  • Compliance and Process Automation – ensuring that required services are delivered to the client by building, tracking, and reporting on various financial metrics.
  • Process Improvement – collaborating with the client to identify processes that could be improved and build new tools to streamline contract compliance within the command.
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.

Travel:

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to favorably pass a federal background investigation.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing financial reports, and/or managing data sets with multiple data types for analysis.
  • Experience conducting financial analysis, including developing cost projections and trend analysis.
  • Advanced level expertise with Microsoft Excel and Power Query/Power Pivot or VBA.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access to include creating reports, forms, and queries.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in support of client requirements.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: PPBE cycle; budget formulation, execution and/or financial management, particularly in a DoD organization, especially the U.S. Navy.
  • Experience using CFMS-C and its Business Intelligence.
  • Experience using SABRS and its Business Intelligence.
