The Health Development Officer (Senior Malaria Technical Advisor) is an integral member of MAL, assigned to the Supply Chain Branch. The Health Development Officer is responsible for providing operational, administrative and technical leadership for malaria supply chain program activities. The Health Development Officer will serve as the Contract Officer’s Representative (COR) and Technical Advisor for contracts and awards that will provide assistance to field missions in PMI-supported countries in the area of the public health supply chain. The Senior Malaria Technical Advisor will manage and work with USAID partners to support host-country institutions and staff to strengthen their health supply chains and ensure that life saving malaria commodities are available when and where they are needed. The Senior Malaria Technical Advisor will exercise independent judgment in planning and carrying out tasks, in serving USG priorities at critical technical and policy forums, in resolving problems and conflicts, and in taking steps necessary to meet deadlines. The Senior Malaria Technical Advisor will receive day to day guidance from the Malaria Supply Chain Branch Chief and programmatic input from members of the Malaria Division Senior Management Team.
