Job Description:
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking an Intern to support Programme Management initiatives in Beijing. This internship provides an opportunity for students enrolled in a graduate program to gain practical experience in the field of programme management within the United Nations system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of programme activities in accordance with UN-Habitat’s mandate and objectives.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of programme performance, including data collection and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials related to programme activities.
- Conduct research on relevant topics related to urban development, housing, and sustainable human settlements.
- Provide administrative support to the Programme Management team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as urban planning, development studies, international relations, or a related field.
- Strong interest in urban development, sustainable cities, and human settlements issues.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
