Job Description:

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking an Intern to support Programme Management initiatives in Beijing. This internship provides an opportunity for students enrolled in a graduate program to gain practical experience in the field of programme management within the United Nations system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of programme activities in accordance with UN-Habitat’s mandate and objectives.
  2. Support the monitoring and evaluation of programme performance, including data collection and analysis.
  3. Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials related to programme activities.
  4. Conduct research on relevant topics related to urban development, housing, and sustainable human settlements.
  5. Provide administrative support to the Programme Management team as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as urban planning, development studies, international relations, or a related field.
  2. Strong interest in urban development, sustainable cities, and human settlements issues.
  3. Excellent research and analytical skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
  6. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
