The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change.
The Corporate Performance and Planning Division (CPP) in WFP was created to strengthen WFP’s capacity to implement the WFP Strategic Plan, to measure WFP’s impact on alleviating hunger through food assistance, and to advance results-based performance and accountability across the organization.
WFP has recently approved a new Strategic Plan, in which it lays out the strategic direction of the organisation will take for the period 2022-2025. Along with the Strategic Plan WFP’s has recently approved its Corporate results framework (CRF) for 2022–2025, which is the operational tool for the implementation of the new strategic plan (2022-2025), defining what WFP will deliver – with programmatic outcomes and outputs – and how this will be achieved through management results, based on organizational enablers.
This assignment will support the implementation of the Corporate Results Framework.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

The selected candidate will be responsible to provide technical M&E guidance M&E for and support the Division in:

  • Re-aligning and transitioning of all on-going WFP Country Strategic Plans (CSPs) to the new Corporate Results Framework by adapting and retrofitting all CSP logframes;
  • Supporting the programme review process for new Country Strategic Plans;
  • Support the development and roll-out of the WFP Programme Indicator Compendium;
  • Support the provision of business requirements for system enhancements;

Other Duties as Required


• All CSP logframes are retrofitted and ready for implementation, monitoring and reporting in 2023.
• The WFP Indicator compendium is updated and available to all staff.


Education: University Master Degree
Experience: Minimum 4-6 years (of which at least two years international) of progressively responsible experience in project design and monitoring and evaluation in international context.

Developing M&E systems including preparation of data collection tools, logframe development and development of performance indicators; analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data, and reporting as well as developing training materials and training facilitation experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of results-based management principles and practices as well as corporate accountability frameworks, preferable in the United Nations;
  • Proven knowledge, abilities and skills in the areas of Monitoring and Evaluation, including experience in preparing logframes and defining indicators;
  • Familiarity with programing design, implementation and operational challenges in food assistance;
  • Practical knowledge on how monitoring data is collected, compiled, analysed and presented for management decisions, programme adjustment and donor reporting;
  • Practical experience working with a technology platform/data repository; use of WFP’s Country Office Monitoring & Evaluation Tool (COMET) and how to design logframes in this tool is an asset but not a requirement;
  • Good reporting skills;
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills;
  • Ability to effectively communicate.


Fluency in oral and written English mandatory. Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (French or Spanish preferred)
