Job Summary

The Energy Procurement Operations Team is responsible for operating Earth’s largest corporate renewable energy portfolio.

We are looking for an experienced asset manager to manage supply contracts post execution, manage energy spend, track environmental attributes and ensure our portfolio is compliant with contract requirements, external regulations and internal policies.

This role includes managing a global portfolio of utility scale energy contracts, monitoring performance and compliance, and working across stakeholders internally and externally.

You will establish known performance indicators for our global portfolio of energy contracts that are in different phases of development and operations to manage our progress towards 100% renewable energy by 2025, as part of our goal to reach net zero carbon by 2040. You will help ensure Amazon delivers on its 100% renewable energy strategy.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) Energy/Engineering/Business/Technology/Information Systems or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience in energy/electric utilities – compliance, regulatory, asset/contract management, operations
  • 3+ years of experience in program or project management role successfully managing transactions – supplier management, contract management, or managing commercial relationships with vendors or customers


  • MBA or Masters in related field
  • 3+ years of experience with renewable energy power purchase agreements and utility scale renewable project development
  • Experience managing large datasets and building audit reports, metrics, and reporting mechanisms
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines and milestones
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external parties while meeting tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to interface successfully with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers
  • Experience in building and managing compliance programs for energy portfolios
  • Experience leading the development of automated tools to track and manage contract performance
  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to interface successfully with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers
  • Experience building relationships and working with industry stakeholders, such as renewable project developers, project investors, renewable original equipment manufacturer, utilities, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and regional power planning agencies
  • Experience with environmental attribute programs, green tariffs, utility scale renewable project development and systems
  • Prior experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements in manual processes
