Senior Program Officer for Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Health Practices

Job Description
Banyan Global, an international development consulting firm, is recruiting a full-time Senior Program Officer for GESI and Health. Banyan Global is looking for a self-starting mid-career professional, who is interested in helping us manage and grow our innovative health practice. This position is based in Washington, DC with travel abroad.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as Senior Technical Advisor for the USAID Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project
- Integrate GESI considerations into health activities at both the core and country levels
- Lead GESI analyses and develop GESI strategy documents
- Manage and oversee GESI activities on other health projects including the USAID Nigeria Health Workforce Management (HWM) Activity
- Recruit, mobilize, and oversee GESI staff and consultants on projects
- Write and review work plans, reports, and other key deliverables
- Support external communications efforts including development and review of success stories, articles, blog posts, website updates, or other external communications products
- Support new business development for the GESI and health practices, including gathering information, writing key technical sections, and coordinating with partners.
- Support the knowledge management and adaptive learning strategies of the GESI and health practices
- Manage and strengthen relationships with potential partners
- Represent Banyan Global to diverse stakeholders and audiences
Qualifications include:
- Advanced degree in relevant field
- Minimum of five years of experience implementing and managing USAID projects
- Demonstrated expertise in GESI and health
- Experience conducting GESI analyses and designing and implementing GESI strategy documents
- Knowledge of USAID gender and health policies and programs, with experience in health system strengthening preferred
- Experience managing teams and remote management
- Experience developing USAID proposals, including writing technical sections and recruiting staff and consultants
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and written and oral communication skills
- Strong program management experience, including overseeing activities remotely
- Familiarity with USAID contracting and reporting requirements
- Ability to travel internationally for short-term technical assistance
- English fluency required, additional language skills a plus
