Introduction The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is seeking an Assistant Administrative and Programme Management Officer to support administrative and programmatic functions within the office. This role involves providing assistance in administrative tasks, project management, and coordination to ensure the smooth operation of office activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Administrative Support: Assist in the day-to-day administrative tasks, including office management, procurement, travel arrangements, and correspondence.
  2. Programme Management: Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects and activities, including budget preparation, financial management, and reporting.
  3. Coordination: Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points.
  4. Information Management: Maintain filing systems, databases, and records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of administrative and programmatic activities.
  5. Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, and providing information on administrative and programmatic matters.
  6. Capacity Building: Provide training and support to staff on administrative procedures, project management tools, and UN policies and guidelines.
  7. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on administrative and programmatic outputs, ensuring compliance with UN standards and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience in administrative support, project management, or related areas. Experience in an international organization or multicultural environment is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
