About the Opportunity:

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is seeking experienced professionals for a consultancy position focusing on the Policy Network on Internet Fragmentation and Best Practice Forum on Cybersecurity. This consultancy offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of policies addressing internet fragmentation and enhancing cybersecurity practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support to the Policy Network on Internet Fragmentation and Best Practice Forum on Cybersecurity.
  • Conduct research and analysis on issues related to internet fragmentation and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist in the development of policy recommendations and frameworks to address internet fragmentation and enhance cybersecurity measures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to identify and promote best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Substantial experience in policy development, particularly in the areas of internet governance and cybersecurity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct research independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
