About the Opportunity:

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is seeking qualified candidates for a consultancy position focused on the Policy Network on Meaningful Access. This consultancy offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of policies aimed at enhancing access to information and telecommunication technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support to the Policy Network on Meaningful Access.
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant topics related to information and telecommunication technologies.
  • Assist in the development of policy frameworks and guidelines to promote meaningful access to ICTs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to identify best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Prepare reports, briefs, and other documents to communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in information technology, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in policy development, particularly in the areas of ICT access and digital inclusion.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct research independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
