Description:

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking an Intern to provide administrative support at its Nairobi office. This internship offers an opportunity for students enrolled in a graduate program to gain practical experience in administrative functions within the United Nations system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in maintaining office files and records, both electronic and hard copy.
  2. Support in organizing meetings, workshops, and other events, including logistical arrangements and documentation preparation.
  3. Assist in drafting and editing correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents.
  4. Provide general administrative support to the office, including photocopying, scanning, and filing.
  5. Assist in conducting research on administrative policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
  2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
