Position Details:

  • Position: Digital Communications Officer
  • Grade: P2
  • Duty Station: Geneva, Switzerland
  • Type of Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years with possibility of renewal
  • Recruitment Open to: External candidates

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Digital Communications Officer, you will:

  • Draft and propose engaging social media posts to promote ITU’s products, priority areas, and major events.
  • Ensure regular updates of ITU’s social media channels and respond to comments and queries promptly.
  • Analyze social media trends and share insights with relevant units to inform communication strategies.
  • Foster conversations and engagement on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of social media communication strategies.
  • Act as a focal point for social media in ITU’s field offices.
  • Participate in external meetings and events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: University degree in communications, marketing, journalism, international relations, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in social media and digital communications strategies. Advanced degree or doctorate in a related field can be considered as substitutes for working experience.
  • Languages: Proficiency in one official language of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) at an advanced level, and intermediate knowledge of a second official language. Knowledge of a third official language is advantageous.

Benefits and Entitlements:

  • Total annual salary: $50,377 + post adjustment $45,188
  • Additional allowances and benefits as per terms of appointment.
