Placing the advancement of women’s rights at the center of our work and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2021-2025, UN Women Indonesia focuses on:

Meetings and consultations with stakeholders through focused group discussions (FGDs), expert group meetings (EGMs), and other methods are important strategies for UN women to gain insights from various stakeholders during the planning, designing, and implementation of projects and country programs.

To respond to the need to organize quality consultations and meetings as stated above, the UN Women Indonesia Country Office is seeking a qualified individual who can facilitate and write consultations and meeting reports, consolidating insights from participants in the consultations.

Objectives of the Assignment:

This assignment aims to facilitate quality meetings, consultations, and meeting reports organized by UN Women Indonesia. The consultant is expected to co-design the agenda and organization of the meetings and discussions, facilitate the exchange of information in the discussions, stimulate active participation from participants, and consolidate the meeting discussion into a comprehensive report.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the UN Women’s Programme Management Specialist and other team members of UN Women Indonesia, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Co-design the format, agenda, and organization of the meetings and consultations based on discussions with the UN Women team.
  • Facilitate the meetings and consultations, ensuring active participant participation through engaging facilitation methods.
  • Develop a synthesis report, capturing and consolidating insights and recommendations from the meetings and consultations.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Co-design agenda and organize the meetings and consultations
    • Final ToR of the meeting/consultation
  • Facilitate the expert meetings and consultations, ensuring active participation and engagement of the participants through an engaging facilitation method.
    • Recording of the discussion, facilitation aids, and tools capturing the discussions
  • Final report of the meetings and consultations capturing and consolidating inputs, insights, and substantive discussions from the meetings and consultations.
  • Develop a report, consolidating key insights and recommendations derived from the expert group meeting.

Contract Period and Work Location:

The consultancy period is from March 25 to November 29, 2024, with an estimated maximum of 100 working days. The consultant will be engaged under a retainer contract, facilitating direct engagement depending on need and availability within the contract period, for a pre-agreed fee. UN Women will cover the travel costs for attending meetings and consultations in person.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Gender and Development, Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Excellent track records and experiences in designing and facilitating FGD, expert group meetings, workshops, and similar events. Extensive experience writing reports from similar activities in development projects is mandatory. Working experience in gender equality, environment, economic empowerment, and relevant fields is essential.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in oral and written Indonesian and English is required.

Evaluation:

Applications will be evaluated based on technical qualifications (70%) and financial proposals (30%). Only candidates meeting the minimum technical score of 70% will have their financial proposals evaluated.
