Job Description:

The Programme Associate will work under the overall direction of the UNFPA Ethiopia Country Office Representative and the programmatic guidance of the Humanitarian Programme Coordinator. Responsibilities include supporting the design, planning, and management of UNFPA’s country programme by managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation, and following up on recommendations.

Job Purpose:

The Programme Associate will facilitate UNFPA’s country programme and project implementation in areas of population and development, reproductive health, and gender. They will assist in formulating the country programme, supporting project implementation, evaluation, logistical coordination, advocacy, and knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in formulating the country’s programme and projects.
  • Support Program Specialist and Analyst on Annual Work Planning and Implementation.
  • Assist in evaluating project and programme activities.
  • Provide logistical support for projects by coordinating meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Assist in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Implement knowledge management strategies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by UNFPA leadership.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Completed secondary-level education is required. A first-level university degree is desirable.
  • Seven years of relevant experience in program and project management.
  • Proficiency in office software applications and corporate IT systems.
  • Field experience in complex emergencies is an added advantage.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
