Duty Station: Bujumbura, Burundi

How You Can Make a Difference:

As the Social & Behavior Change Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the generation of demand for vaccination services, working under the responsibility of the SBC Unit. Your tasks will include:

  • Analyzing past activities to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Planning and updating activities tailored to the context to enhance the success of communication and social mobilization efforts for vaccination.
  • Developing communication strategies specific to district contexts and coordinating with various partners for behavior change.
  • Supporting the development of monitoring and evaluation strategies and tools for tracking routine vaccination activities and campaigns.
  • Assisting districts in coordinating NGO interventions related to demand generation activities.
  • Mobilizing and guiding partner networks at the national, district, and community levels to ensure active participation in vaccination activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, psychology, education, communication, or a relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in social communication, preferably with NGOs and development projects.
  • Experience in national-level coordination for epidemic response.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, along with excellent writing and communication abilities.
  • Creativity, innovation, and openness to new ideas.
  • Proficiency in French and good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Kirundi is an advantage.
