Consider the following things for a smooth and error-free UDSM Online application in 2022/2023:

  • Make a complete list of the programmes and courses you plan to apply for.

  • Make sure your phone number is up to date because it will be required for all future crucial alerts (Notification about your Selection status and verification code will be sent to this number)

The University of Dar es Salaam is currently taking applications for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2022–2023, as was previously indicated. It is advised that applicants adhere to the UDSM application deadlines listed below for successful applications.

UDSM application forms

The University of Dar es Salaam requires applicants to submit particular application forms, either in hard copy (printed application forms) or electronically, in order to be considered for admission to various programmes.

The University of Dar es Salaam only accepts online applications at this time. In order to be considered for admission to the University of Dar es Salaam, applicants must use the UDSM online application system (UDSM OAS)

One of the educational institutions in Tanzania, the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), uses an online application system (OAS) to process applications for a variety of courses and programmes.

An online programme created to manage UDSM admission-related activities is called the University of Dar es Salaam UDSM Online Admission System (Online applications). Students can quickly apply online for the courses of their choice by using this approach.

How to apply for UDSM admission online (Via UDSM OAS)

This is a step-by-step instruction manual on how to apply to the University of Dar es Salaam’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Follow the steps listed below to apply for admission;

Step 1: Go to https://udsm.admission.ac.tz/ to the UDSM Admission website.

Step 2: The online application mechanism for the UDSM will launch. Go to the undergraduate or graduate area and carefully read the instructions that are provided.

Step 3: Registration

Go to the registration website, and then To complete your registration, enter the needed data. The data required during the registration phase consists of

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • O-Level index number,

To finalize registration you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.

If your registration goes through, the system will send you an email or text message. Please check your email and use the link that was sent to you to activate your admission account.

Step 4: Sign in to the UDSM online application: Use your Username and password to sign in to UDSM OAS. Fill out your registration by telling us about yourself, such as your gender, marital status, and date of birth.

Step 5: Pay the UDSM application fees:

Once you’ve finished registering, a control number will be made for you automatically, and you’ll be able to pay the application fee and finish the application. A non-refundable application fee of 10,000/= TZS must be paid for an application to be accepted.

UDSM APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT

Use the reference number shown to pay the application fee using mobile money services like Mpesa, Tigo Pesa, or Airtel Money for Local Students. The application fee for foreign students is paid using the SWIFT code NLCBTZTX and the account number 012105005554, which belongs to the University of Dar es Salaam, NBC Bank, Samora Branch.

 Payment procedures for application fees for local students using mobile money services are detailed below: 

Vodacom Number

  1. To access your MPESA, dial *150*00#.
  2. then pick option 4: M-Pesa payment (Lipa Kwa Mpesa)
  3. Select option 5: Government Payment (Malipo ya Serikali)
  4. Next, select 1: Reference Number (Weka Namba ya kumbukumbu) Go into the
  5. Reference number: 99143XXXXXX (Ingiza number ya kumbukumbu ya malipo).

NB:  Your admission system account should provide the reference number when you click the red “Make Payment” button, as in Reference No. 99143XXXXXX.

Tigo Number

  1. To access your Tigo-Pesa number, enter *150*01#.
  2. Option 4: Pay the bill (LIPA Bili,)
  3. Malipo ya Serikali, option 5.
  4. Enter the following Reference number: 99143XXXXXX (Tafadhali ingiza namba ya malipo).

NB: To make a payment, click the red “Make Payment” button and enter the reference number from your admission system account, for example, 99143XXXXXX

 Airtel Number

NB: Your admission system account should provide the reference number when you click the red “Make Payment” button, as in Reference No. 99143XXXXXX.

Step 6: Carefully choose your courses and submit your finished application. The course selection option will only be available for filling out once the application cost is paid. The applicant must complete all of the steps from “Home” to “Submit” in order to successfully finish the application.
