ACTED Benin:
As part of Acted’s expansion in West Africa, Acted is recruiting for the following position:

Area Coordinator Responsibilities:

The Area Coordinator represents Acted’s interests with local authorities, donors, beneficiary communities, and other stakeholders. They are a member of the senior management team and ensure program quality, operational implementation, growth, and strong representation. The Area Coordinator directly supervises Project Managers, oversees day-to-day operations, and manages security in the respective area.

Main Duties:

  1. Positioning:
    • Context analysis
    • Strategy implementation
    • Networking, representation, and advocacy
    • Proposal development
    • Promotion of Acted network
  2. Management and Internal Coordination:
    • Staff management
    • Internal coordination
  3. Project Implementation Follow-up:
    • Project tracking and quality control
    • Partner management
  4. FLATS Management:
    • Finance, logistics, IT, administration, HR, transparency/compliance, and security management

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Background in international development, emergency operations, humanitarian programs, etc.
  • Extensive project management experience in emergency and/or development programs
  • Basic management skills preferred (HR, finance, logistics)
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience, preferably including security management
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills

Conditions:

  • Salary between €3100 and €3200 monthly (before income tax)
  • Monthly living allowance of $300
  • Accommodation and food provided in Acted guesthouse

  • Flight tickets every 6 months and visa fees covered
  • Contribution to luggage transportation
  • Annual leave of 25 to 43 days per year
  • One-week pre-departure training in Acted HQ, including a 4-day in situ security training
