Terms of Reference:

Join UNHCR’s Digital Service in Copenhagen, Denmark, and become part of our mission to transform how we communicate and engage on digital platforms. As a Digital Engagement Intern, you’ll play a vital role in leveraging digital channels to protect and raise awareness about the forcibly displaced and stateless.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in WordPress daily task management and troubleshooting
  • Support management of technical issues and route them for action
  • Assist in organizing routine capacity-building sessions and webinars
  • Draft documentation related to editors’ coordination processes
  • Support quality assurance and accessibility compliance exercises
  • Conduct health checks on websites and generate performance reports
  • Identify and curate relevant trainings for editors’ communities

Eligibility Criteria:

  • recent graduate or current student in a relevant field
  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
  • Not eligible if a family member is a UNHCR staff member

Desirable qualifications and skills:

  • Degree in international development, communication, marketing, law, or social sciences
  • Fluency in English with excellent drafting and editorial skills
  • Experience with content management systems like WordPress
  • Interest in humanitarian/development action or related field
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a diverse cultural environment

Location and conditions:

  • Based at UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Six-month internship, with the possibility of extension to eight months
  • Full-time role (40 hours per week)
  • Expected start date: May 1, 2024
  • Shortlisted candidates may be required to sit for a written test
  • Assistance provided for non-EU candidates obtaining D-visa
  • Interns receive an allowance to partially cover living expenses
  • Travel costs reimbursed by UNHCR
