Objectives of the Programme:

Administrative Support Units (CSUs) have been established within the organizational structure to provide support to managers and staff members, enabling them to fully carry out their responsibilities within the GSM environment. The Driver reports to the Assistant Asset & Logistics and is responsible for driving service vehicles, ensuring the transportation of authorized personnel, and delivery and collection of mail, documents, and other items.

Description of Duties:

  • Drive service vehicles to transport authorized personnel and deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items.
  • Welcome official personnel at the airport and facilitate customs and immigration formalities, if required.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of the assigned vehicle, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., and performing minor repairs.
  • Record official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, daily oil changes, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with prescribed measures in case of accidents.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: At least a secondary school diploma and a valid driver’s license for all categories in the country.
  • Desirable: Training in auto mechanics would be an asset.
  • Experience: At least one (01) year of progressive experience in driving as a chauffeur and a history of safe driving.
  • Desirable: Experience as a driver in the UN system would be an advantage.
  • Skills: Knowledge of the country’s driving rules and regulations and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in the working language and to write concise and accurate accident reports. Familiarity with administrative procedures and the office’s transportation needs. Driver courtesy. Adherence to organizational values.

Remuneration: WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at XOF 5,831,000 and 30 days of annual leave.
