INTERN – ENVIRONMENT AFFAIRS

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on environmental issues, policies, and trends. Analyze data and information to support environmental assessments and reports. Assist in the preparation of documents, presentations, and briefing materials on various environmental topics.

  2. Project Support: Provide support to ongoing environmental projects and initiatives. Assist in project planning, implementation, and monitoring activities. Contribute to the development of project proposals and fundraising efforts.

  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, to promote environmental awareness and cooperation. Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, and events to facilitate dialogue and collaboration.

  4. Communications: Support the dissemination of environmental information and awareness-raising campaigns. Assist in the development of communication materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and press releases. Contribute to the management of the organization’s website and social media channels.

  5. Administrative Tasks: Assist in day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and maintaining databases. Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and conferences related to environmental affairs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program (or equivalent) in environmental science, environmental management, sustainable development, or a related field.
  • Strong academic background with a demonstrated interest in environmental issues and sustainability.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment and adapt to diverse working styles and perspectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis software are desirable.
