Salary:

  • £31,000 – £39,000 per annum for a Research Officer
  • £37,000 – £47,000 per annum for a Senior Research Officer

About Us

ODI (odi.org) is an independent, global think tank dedicated to inspiring action against injustice and inequality. Through impactful research, convening, and advocacy, we generate influential ideas for the betterment of people and the planet.

We are currently seeking a (Senior) Research Officer to contribute to the development of our emerging portfolio on food security in an era of urbanization, rising poverty, and climate change. The selected candidate’s primary focus will be on sustainable, healthy diets in cities and resilient, regenerative agriculture.

Under the guidance of Research Fellows, the successful candidate will:

  • Conduct policy-relevant, high-quality, and innovative research.
  • Prepare well-informed policy advice for various decision-makers, including national government officials, municipal government officials, and international development agency staff.
  • Engage in public affairs activities such as presenting research findings at events, writing blogs, and collaborating with our communications team to design effective communication products.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals.

The successful candidate will join ODI’s Climate and Sustainability programme, working towards building a more equitable world through climate-compatible development and sustainable stewardship of natural resources.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in producing research outputs or policy advice in the field of food, agriculture, land use, and/or urban development.

Note:

  • A Research Officer typically has 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • A Senior Research Officer typically has 3-5 years of relevant experience or a PhD with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
