Standard Job Description

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships: The Logistics Associate manages and supports all activities pertaining to the logistics function including planning, sourcing & procurement, transport, shipments tracking, customs clearance, and warehousing. The position may be located at Headquarters, in a Regional Bureau, or in a Country Office.

Duties:

  • Manage and support logistics activities to facilitate timely and quality delivery of goods and services to Persons of Concern (POC).
  • Draft plans for delivery of relief and other items according to operational needs.
  • Plan and oversee emergency airlifts, sea and road transport arrangements.
  • Process all requests for CRIs in a timely manner.
  • Apply UNHCR’s sourcing & procurement strategy.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders for customs clearance and smooth delivery of items.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports.
  • Evaluate purchase requisitions and draft dispatch quotation requests.
  • Contribute to performance evaluation of goods/ service providers.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and monitor delivery.
  • Support warehouse management and goods deliveries planning.
  • Monitor supply chain related data and compile statistical information.
  • Assist in identifying organizational and procedural gaps and propose improvements.
  • Coordinate with Emergency Supply Unit and other units regarding stock replenishment and release of relief items.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • For G6: 3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.

  • Strong knowledge of UN/UNHCR supply rules and regulations.
  • Experience in using complex ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Experience in international sea, land, and air transport.
  • Knowledge of international commercial terms (incoterms).
  • Flexibility, efficient time management, and excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain rules and procedures.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range (G6): NET 587,586 HUF – NET 688,996 HUF
