Job Purpose:
IRRI India is executing a GIZ funded project titled ‘dynAg: An AI based Digital Extension Platform to Promote Peer-to-Peer Exchange and Deliver Dynamic Advisory to Smallholders’ in Bihar, India. The project aims to address agricultural extension challenges faced by farmers in Bihar by developing a dynamic Agricultural Advisory platform called ‘dynAg.’ The platform will provide personalized agricultural advisories tailored to different weather forecast scenarios, incorporating rice-wheat cultivation examples, local languages, and peer-to-peer communication features.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate language data collection in Magadhi, Mythili, and Bhojpuri.
  • Facilitate information exchange among users in local languages.
  • Assist in maintaining and disseminating agricultural content repository and data models.
  • Personalize user experience by providing relevant advisory based on preferences.
  • Test and validate dynAg advisories, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  • Review field activities, engage users, and pilot dynAg.
  • Ensure accuracy of agricultural language data.
  • Monitor user engagement progress and outcomes of dynAg piloting.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in journalism, computer science, or related field with knowledge of language data.

Skills Required:
Mandatory:

  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent networking and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in technical report writing.

Preferred:

  • Experience engaging with farmers and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
  • Monitoring data experience.
  • Familiarity with Bihar’s culture.
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
