Country Context – Cambodia:
Cambodia joined the NDC Partnership in 2019. Its updated NDC aims to decrease emissions by 41.7 percent from the business-as-usual scenario by 2030, with a focus on the Forest and Land Use Sector (FOLU) and other sectors like energy, agriculture, industry, and waste. UNOPS supports Cambodia’s NDC implementation through coordination, resource mobilization, and other activities.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in climate finance, particularly related to environmental aspects, to support NDC implementation in Cambodia.
  • Support coordination and resource mobilization efforts for NDC implementation, working closely with government counterparts and partner organizations.
  • Analyze and assess financial mechanisms and instruments for climate finance, identifying opportunities for scaling up investments in climate action.
  • Provide guidance on integrating climate considerations into development planning and investment decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of climate finance initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement and optimization.

Education/Experience/Language Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced degree (Masters or higher) in business, finance, environmental management, climate change, or related field.

  • Language: Proficiency in English is required.
