As Programme Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing initiatives that empower women economically and bridge the digital gender gap.

In Pakistan, women face significant barriers to economic participation and technological access. Only 14% of women are engaged in the tech sector, highlighting the urgent need for initiatives to boost women’s economic empowerment and digital literacy. Your work with UN Women will help create pathways for women to thrive in the digital economy, unlocking their full potential and contributing to a more equitable society.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead Programme Development: Oversee the strategic planning process for the KOICA funded project, ensuring timely implementation within budgetary constraints. Provide guidance to project staff and stakeholders, monitoring progress and conducting evaluations to ensure quality and impact.

  • Promote Women’s Economic Empowerment: Coordinate with industry leaders, government agencies, and private sector organizations to facilitate mentorship and experience-sharing opportunities for women beneficiaries. Strengthen partnerships and mobilize resources to upscale project interventions and ensure sustainability.

  • Advocate for Gender Equality: Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and advocate for policy changes to improve women’s access to economic opportunities and technological resources. Document project learnings and develop evidence-based products to inform future programming.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Development Economics, Gender Studies, International Development, or related field.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in programme management, with a focus on women’s economic empowerment and technology industry. Proven track record of leading teams effectively and delivering results.

  • Language: Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
