Job Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Finance Project Manager, the Project Coordinator – Finance oversees and manages financial projects, blending project management expertise with a deep understanding of financial processes, systems, and regulations. This role assists in managing various financial aspects within the organization, including capex budgeting, facilities management, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate possesses a strong grasp of finance principles, exceptional organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based at IRRI Headquarters in Los Baños, Philippines, and is open only to permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, identify resource requirements, and establish timelines and budgets aligned with finance goals.
  • Coordinate project schedules, timelines, and resources to ensure timely completion of milestones and deadlines.
  • Analyze financial data, conduct feasibility studies, and provide insights to support project decision-making.
  • Allocate and manage financial resources effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee project development, ensure efficient task completion by team members, and collaborate with process experts on operational activities.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to end users.
  • Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and financial analysis to assess project viability.
  • Create and manage project budgets, track actual costs, and analyze variances.
  • Communicate project progress, milestones, and financial updates effectively.
  • Address stakeholders’ concerns, manage expectations, and foster collaboration.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates and insights.
  • Obtain project sign-off and conduct a formal project closure process.
  • Conduct post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned and identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Project Management, or related field with at least 5 years of experience; PMP certification is a plus.

Skills Required:

Mandatory:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or administration, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
