Description:

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Coordinator for the IB Lao PDR and ASEAN IB Forum. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and managing projects related to investment promotion and facilitation in Lao PDR, as well as supporting the organization of the ASEAN Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) Forum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and manage projects aimed at promoting and facilitating investment in Lao PDR.
  2. Support the organization of the ASEAN Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) Forum.
  3. Develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely implementation of activities.
  4. Liaise with government agencies, international organizations, and other stakeholders to promote investment opportunities in Lao PDR.
  5. Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to government officials and investment promotion agencies in Lao PDR.
  6. Prepare reports, presentations, and other relevant documents related to project activities.
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced university degree in economics, business administration, international relations, or a related field.
  2. At least five years of relevant experience in project coordination, investment promotion, or related fields.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of investment policies, regulations, and practices in Lao PDR and the ASEAN region.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency in English, with knowledge of another official UN language, is desirable.
  7. Experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or development partners in Asia-Pacific is an advantage.
