The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of lift technician. This consulting opportunity involves providing technical expertise in the maintenance and operation of lifts at our duty station in Addis Ababa.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of lifts and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to lift operation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and safety of lifts.
• Collaborate with other team members to address technical challenges and optimize lift performance.
• Provide training and technical guidance to staff members on lift operation and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a lift technician.
• Strong knowledge of lift systems, including hydraulic and traction lifts.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing lift malfunctions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
