Description:

The Department of Global Communications is seeking a Sales and Marketing Assistant to support its activities in New York. The assistant will play a key role in promoting the department’s initiatives and events through effective sales and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of sales and marketing plans to promote departmental initiatives and events.
  2. Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audiences and potential partners for collaboration.
  3. Prepare promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and presentations, to support sales and marketing campaigns.
  4. Coordinate outreach efforts, including email marketing, social media promotion, and advertising, to reach target audiences effectively.
  5. Maintain and update databases of contacts, stakeholders, and potential clients to support sales and marketing activities.
  6. Provide logistical support for departmental events and activities, including venue booking, participant registration, and on-site coordination.
  7. Assist in the preparation of sales reports, performance metrics, and other relevant data to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.
  8. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment of sales and marketing activities with departmental objectives.
  9. Provide administrative support to the sales and marketing team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training or certification in sales, marketing, or related field is desirable.
  2. Minimum of five years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, advertising, or related field, preferably in a communications or media organization.
  3. Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles, strategies, and techniques.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  8. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
