Job Overview:

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in advancing protection programming and promoting standards of excellence? Join the Violence Prevention and Response Technical Unit (VPRU) as our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Specialist. In this role, you’ll lead the implementation of MEAL systems for protection projects, ensuring innovation, learning, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Provide Direct Technical Support to VPRU Projects:

  • Lead and manage MEAL activities for a portfolio of VPRU-led grants, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Independently develop project learning plans and approaches, and provide ongoing training and capacity building to VPRU staff and partners.
  • Adapt and refine MEAL approaches based on feedback and project-specific needs.

2. Support Broader Learning Strategies and Resources for VPRU:

  • Provide ad hoc support to other VPRU team members for MEAL-related tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of intervention-specific toolkits and MEAL guidance for VPRU teams.
  • Actively participate in MEAL technical sections of business development and represent VPRU MEAL externally.

Your Skills and Competencies:

– Strong Data Collection and Analysis Skills: Experience with mobile data collection, qualitative data analysis, and Excel analysis. – MEAL Expertise: Ability to generate high-quality MEAL deliverables and demonstrate best data practices. – Organizational Skills: Strong ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively in a diverse portfolio. – Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build trust across diverse teams. – Flexibility: Capacity to work well independently and in a dynamic, globally diverse team environment. – Dedication to Equity: Proven commitment to anti-racism and equity work.

Preferred Experience:

  • Degree in social sciences, humanitarian assistance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with ODK-based mobile data collection applications and additional analysis software.
  • Previous experience working with local or national-level organizations desirable.
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills (French, Spanish, Arabic) a plus.
