Overview of the Functions of the Post: The ICT Assistant, under the supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant and guidance of the Head of Office, supports management and operations of ICT infrastructure, equipment, and services. Responsibilities include providing user support, implementing new functionalities, conducting needs assessments, and liaising with external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure ICT-related needs are met in the field office and support ICT infrastructure, equipment, and services.
  2. Provide user support and technical assistance, investigating technical issues and raising complex problems to DBS support or external service providers.
  3. Implement new functionalities, applications, and services, coordinating with DBS and advising on technical solutions.
  4. Conduct needs assessments for new applications, draft ICT requirements for procurement, and maintain ICT procurement inventory.
  5. Identify and organize ICT training for users, liaise with Host Organization or UN System, and represent UNESCO at ICT inter-agency meetings.
  6. Participate in ICT monthly meetings organized by DBS and perform additional activities as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Completed secondary and/or vocational education.
  • Work Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience in ICT or related fields. Knowledge of confidentiality guidelines.
  • Skills and Competencies: Customer-oriented, multitasking ability, good communication skills, and interpersonal relations.
  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of Spanish. Good knowledge of English.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Education: Qualifications/diploma in ICT. Complementary education in computer science is an asset.
  • Work Experience: Experience in the UN System or International Organizations is an asset.
