Purpose of Job:

The Principal, Team Lead is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and developing services for all applications, systems, and services within the Bank. They manage a team of technical and functional specialists, ensuring operational challenges are addressed, business needs are met, and strategic goals are achieved.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, motivate, train, and develop staff to maintain an effective workplace.
  • Ensure systems meet evolving business requirements and manage the development program.
  • Manage business backlog, guide prioritization, estimating, and team capacity.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to progress deliverables optimally.
  • Implement and ensure adoption of key agile working practices.
  • Assist in defining the strategic direction of the function.
  • Directly manage staff, including recruitment, compensation, and performance management.
  • Champion the Bank’s Behavioural Competencies and Corporate Behaviours.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Solid experience in software development processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with iterative and incremental development.
  • Experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, Continuous Integration, etc.
  • Ability to deliver products on time and understand the value of metrics.
  • Experience managing teams and system implementations across different technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.
