The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Power Systems/Generator Technicians. This consultancy opportunity entails providing technical expertise in the maintenance and operation of electrical power systems and generators at our duty station in Addis Ababa.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical power systems and generators.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power systems.
• Collaborate with other team members to address technical issues and optimize system performance.
• Provide training and technical guidance to staff members on the operation and maintenance of power systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the maintenance and operation of electrical power systems and generators.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
