Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairsinvites unemployed graduates to apply for Graduate Internship Programme 2023.

Internship Location: KwaZulu-Natal

Internship Closing Date: 17 March 2023 @ 16H00

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURISM GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2023 – 2025 FINANCIAL YEAR

Duration of Programme is twenty-four (24) months

Preference will be given to individuals who are between 18 – 35 years old. The programme is aimed at providing workplace experience to graduates and in-service trainees.

The programme is offered in collaboration with different municipalities, public entities and development agencies.

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo an interview and if successful they will enter into a performance agreement covering the duration of the programme.

The agreement will be between the candidates, the department and the host employer. Graduates and Students who have not been previously employed under the same programme and who have been unemployed for a period of one year or more are invited to apply.

Applications are invited from candidates in the following areas:

Graduates and students are encouraged to only apply to municipalities within their residential areas.

Applications must be submitted on the Tourism Graduate Development Programme Placement Form (NOT Z83), this form is obtainable from the link at the end of this article.

The forms may also be obtainable from the participating Tourism Offices listed above. Applicants are requested to CLEARLY quote the Reference Number of the placement they are applying for.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR UNEMPLOYED TOURISM GRADUATES

State the area and reference number which the candidate is applying for (from the above list), the form should be accompanied by a copy of Curriculum Vitae, copy of Matric certificate, copy of a three year degree/diploma in Tourism Management, Travel & Tourism or an appropriate equivalent Tourism & Hospitality qualification, including academic transcripts records, copy of Identity document and proof of residential address obtained from local municipality (ward councillor) or traditional authority.

lease note that no affidavits will be accepted as proof of residence. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to an interview nearest to their areas of residence.

The successful candidates will be required to sign an internship contract for the duration of the placement.

Note: Certified copies of Identity Document, Grade 12 Certificate and the highest required qualifications as well as a driver’s licence where necessary, will only be submitted by shortlisted candidates on or before the day of the interview date.

Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If you have not been contacted within three months of the closing date, please accept that your application was unsuccessful.
