Yanga In brilliant performance earn three-star,   

Young Africans (Yanga), the defending champions of the Tanzanian division, triumphed by a score of three goals on Sunday during the second matchday of the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup at various locations.
Yanga, who began their season with a loss away to US Monastir of Tunisia, won emphatically over TP Mazembe at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Young Africans (Yanga), locally known as the Wanajangwani, defeated the Congolese Ravens 3-1, with goals from Kennedy Musonda, Mudathir Yahya, and Tusila Kisinda, to go second in Group D. For standing so far in this tough group D in which they are found check here in.

The host club rushed to a 2-0 lead in the first 11 minutes, fuelled by a crowded crown in the capital. Zambian Musonda broke the deadlock after only seven minutes with a header from the edge of the six yard box after a freekick from Jesus Moloko.

Yahya scored the second goal four minutes later, with Musonda turning provider by lumping a pass behind the defense and the former racing through to it and looping the ball over the keeper.

Mazembe were unsettled and attempted to re-enter the game. Adam Bosou had an opportunity in the 28th minute when a freekick from skipper Kofi Kouame found him at the backpost, but his header was off goal.

Yanga kept putting on the pressure in the second half, but Mazembe fought back to close the margin. They eventually cut the lead in half in the 80th minute thanks to Alex Ngonga’s freekick, but Yanga put the game out of reach with Kisinda scoring in the third minute of added time.
